26th Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics

The ESB2021 congress will be an online event. Face-to-face meeting is not possible, and we’ll miss friendly discussions, gathering, social dinner, and being in company with friends and colleagues. However, we are working to make this event a rewarding experience. In addition to scientific parallel sessions, virtual student events, virtual boots for sponsors, other online initiatives, like mentoring sessions, are being to be prepared. Furthermore, it is our intention is to take advantage of this format to maintain interaction between participants not only in the 3 days of the congress, but also in the post-congress period; to this purpose, recording of all presentations will be available for streaming after the congress. More than 700 abstract submissions have been reviewed and the program schedule is now in preparation, the scientific program looks promising!!! Looking forward to virtually meeting you in 11 – 14 July 2021 July. Go to the website

SIMULIA Newsletter March 2020 – Building a smarter world with SIMULIA

Our society is, very literally, built on infrastructure. We rely on a global network of roads, rails, power lines, pipelines, canals and ports for our food, freight, transit and energy. Developing countries are seeing a boom in infrastructure construction as they join the world market, while developed countries are investing heavily in replacing structures that are now tens or even hundreds of years old. Simulation allows civil engineers to model the strength and life span of bridges, tunnels, dams and other infrastructure virtually. Huge megaprojects can be analyzed and inspected through their digital twin before a single shovel load is dug. Our new eBook shows some of the applications of simulation in infrastructure engineering, with real examples and papers from our customers. July 2019 | SIMULIA | Reveal the world we live in

News Electric vehicles are breaking into the mainstream, revolutionizing our streets. Electric drive systems are a key tool in reducing dangerous urban air pollution and the huge climate cost of transportation, while smart and autonomous vehicles can help increase road safety while cutting congestion. Making the leap from concept car to mass-production requires innovation by OEMs and suppliers alike. Integrating new technologies (including LiDAR and other advanced sensing devices, batteries, new broadband antennas, electric drives and power electronics) into vehicles poses unique challenges and requires holistic design of the entire car as a single system. Dassault Systèmes with its family of brands is tackling this very challenge with solutions and key technologies to design, evaluate and optimize EV in an interconnected, multidiscipline framework. Industry Report: Simulation Supports Innovation ARC Advisory Group reviews how SIMULIA applications help companies be competitive and overcome complexity in product development. April 2019 | Latest news on mobility

The Transportation and Mobility industry is undergoing a revolution. Electric drive, autonomous vehicles and smart roads all promise to make personal transportation cleaner and safer, while onboard connectivity and infotainment make the passenger experience more comfortable. In this month’s SIMULIA newsletter, you’ll find information about our simulation solutions for meeting the challenges these new technologies pose, as well as about our upcoming conferences. NEWS The rise of autonomous vehicles and ridesharing mean the passenger experience is firmly in the driving seat for vehicle design. Climate control, noise and seat design all need to be optimized to maximise comfort, safety and energy efficiency – especially for electric vehicles. The hyper-connected world meanwhile makes increasingly heavy demands on on-board computers and wireless internet. Bringing a vehicle successfully to market means not only meeting all the regulatory requirements for safety and energy efficiency, but also crafting a passenger experience that sets it apart

Airbus Group Enhances Their 3D Design Capabilities With Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

3D design software manufacturer Dassault Systèmes has long been known for their SOLIDWORKS software, a platform so big and far-reaching it has its ownthree-day conference dedicated to it. Their 3DEXPERIENCE platform, however, is no small potatoes. As companies integrate 3D printing more and more into their day-to-day business, 3DEXPERIENCE promises to help them every step of the way, from marketing to engineering. Dassault Systèmes made a big impact with 3DEXPERIENCE at CES 2016 in January, and several major organizations have adopted the platform for a wide range of applications from consumer electronics to defense. The latest company to leverage 3DEXPERIENCE is the Airbus Group, who has been all over the headlines lately, what with their official unveiling of their 3D printed UAV this week and their recent patent application that could theoretically lead to the 3D printing of entire airplanes. After a two-year benchmarking process, the Airbus Group is extending their use
